PUERTO VALLARTA

  •  Every Tuesday at 9:30am and Thursday at 6:30pm:  Free  Sculpture walking tours along the Malecon.  Meet at the Millennium  sculpture in front of the Rosita Hotel in El Centro to begin 2-hr tour.
  • Every Thursday:  Evening Farmer's and Craft market at marina
  • Saturdays  from 10am - 2pm: The “old” farmers market has moved to Pino Suerez  between Carranza and Basilio Badillo and the “new” farmers market is in  the location of the “old” market, at the Paradise Community Center on  Pulpito, across from Coco’s Restaurant.
  • Mid Dec – March:  Whale Season brings an incredible number of huge humpback whales in Banderas Bay.
  • Nov  22 - Dec 1, 2019: XXV Festival Gourmet International is an event for  foodies everywhere to enjoy and sample the local cuisine at its best,  with events at various venues and restaurants. 
  • Mid-Dec:  La  Posada - one of the true seasonal highlights, featuring the religious  Christmas nativity and a candlelit parade around downtown.

CANCUN

 

  • Summer Solstice - late June:  the year's longest day, when many people head to the Chichen Itza ruins for solstice celebrations.
  • Autumn  Equinox at Chichén Itzá: Late September, the nearby Mayan Chichen Itza  pyramid is famous at this time of the year, since the sun rays create  the image of a moving snake and attracts visitors from far and wide,  lasting around ten days

  •  May 5:  Cinco de Mayo although not widely celebrated throughout Mexico except in Pueblo
  • Sept  15: Grito de la Independencia (Independence Cry) - midnight festivities  remembering the Independence of 1810 and featuring many events around  downtown Cancun. Expect lots of locals to be shouting 'Viva Mexico' or  similar​
  • Early  November: Day of the Dead - a celebration of life, as the dead are  remembered and crowds gather at cemeteries, bands play loudly around the  city and much of Cancun is filled with brightly colourful decorations.  This traditional event is extremely historic and quite appealing
